The strategy of IAE Pau - Bayonne

The strategy of IAE Pau-Bayonne is materialized by several elements.

Contract of objectives and means

The contract of objectives and means 2022-2024 outlines the orientations and action plan of IAE Pau-Bayonne, while taking account of the strategic project of UPPA and the College of European and International Studies. After describing the context of its development, this document first provides an overview of the initial situation, whether in terms of training, partnerships, or governance. Then, the IAE's project is described in connection with the necessary resources.

Our project is guided by a school sense that is defined by :

  • The search for excellence
  • Promoting the potential of our students
  • The transmission of the desire to undertake
  • Opening the field of possibilities

Status reports

The status reports of IAE Pau-Bayonne allow for an annual assessment the achievement of the contract of objectives and means. They summarize the main actions undertaken in terms of study, research, partnerships, international relations, resources and governance, and communication.

Strategic project of the IAE : towards a 5-year school

The strategy of the IAE for the coming years is also the desire to create a University School of Management within 5 years by strengthening the current master's programs and by offering bachelor's degrees that connect with high school graduates. This project addresses a shortage of students in a dynamic region by complementing an insufficient offering of management schools, while aligning with the development ambitions supported by local authorities and UPPA.

In this context, the IAE model, developed nationally by IAE France, provides a suitable response to this demand, particularly at the post-baccalaureate level by creating selective bachelor's degrees in management which do not yet exist in the current training offerings in the South Aquitaine region, and wich attract many talented individuals to IAEs that have already established them.

Several bachelor's and master's degrees could be created by 2030, while relying on new resources to enable this development. A program starting from the first year (L1) offering core courses (law, economics, management) while differentiating from existing programs with a sustainable dimension. The number of students at the IAE should thus double by 2030.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy of the IAE

For several years, IAE Pau-Bayonne has been committed to a process aimed at identifying, coordinating, and promoting actions related to sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.
Actions taken in this context involve disseminating information and raising awareness among the entire university community: students, teachers, administrative staff, and partners.

The integration of these sustainable practices enables us to contribute to environmental and social transition, addressing the current challenges of more responsible management. These challenges are tackled not only through our training and research missions, but also thanks to the significant involvement of student project groups.

How to train managers and future managers in responsible management ?

Integrating social and environmental responsibility during the skills acquisition process has never been stronger. With all its stakeholders, the IAE Pau-Bayonne team's goal is to support our students, and lead with them ethically and socially responsible initiatives that limit their environmental impacts.
This is how the concept of responsible management has gradually made its way into our speeches and actions.

Our students can cultivate these values by adopting a socially responsible attitude and principles. There are several contexts for translating knowledge into action : during classes, in projects or assignments, and at organized events (such as meetings with partners and conferences).

Agreements with University Institute of Technology

IAE Pau-Bayonne has formalized links for students from nearby University Institutes of Technology (IUT) who wish to continue their studies in our programs. In this context, agreements allow :

  • offer students enrolled in an IUT who wish to continue to a Master's program at IAE Pau-Bayonne an internal training path within the University of Pau and Pays de l'Adour,
  • create 5-year specialization for the top students from the IUT of Bayonne Pays Basque in a situation of continuing education, promoting student success and professional integration.
